But it is not that straightforward at the moment. Comedy is one form of art that can continue to be performed in the presence of a live crowd, but we'll not see arena tours any time in the near future. However, one comedian from Bristol has managed to connect with a global audience with the help of the social media lockdown. Abi Clarke did not set out to become an internet celebrity. The 24-year-old, living in Hen bury with her parents, began making videos online "to build a following of people who like my stand-up comedy. "I was performing more gigs in Devon to men aged 50 or older, and I began making online videos with the intention to build an audience of like-minded people who would appreciate my stand-up comedy." Abi said.
